Have you ever been able to see the block and punch that Bruce Lee does in the fight scene with Bob Wahl in Enter the Dragon!?
I'll break down the fundamentals here so you can understand how that block and punch works with one of my students.
In this video, I talk about a scene from Enter the Dragon that many of you have seen but may not realize the mechanics of how the punch worked. The scene I am referring to the beginning tournament duel on Han’s Island between Bruce Lee and Bob Wall (O’hara). I show what is barely seen at the middle of the screen as Bruce hits Bob, the Pak Sao (slapping hand). Sigung moves so fast and his body partly blocks the view. The pak sao is a very important integrated part of delivering the punch. Watching the entire scene, you’ll see that Bruce delivers this 3 times – using a pak sao and a back fist. This can be delivered with a straight punch as well. On the third duel, you’ll see Bruce do a chop choy/gwa choy move that I’ll teach in another video.
